How do I burn a Xandros iso file to a cd? |
XP |

A |
Both Roxio and Nero have ways to do this,
but John Sturges recommends a free utility called Iso
Recorder. He recommends two other freeware utilities to burn
all your other cds. One is CD
Burner XP Pro and the other is Deep Burner. Both of
these solutions are better suited to older equipment than the newer
commercial programs. John Barker reminds us to use slower burning
speeds to avoid making coasters. I use 2X for my music cds. John
Sturges reminded us that most cd burning tools can split large files
into multiple smaller pieces that will fit on a cd. IZARC is
an excellent archiving tool that will perform this function. If you
burn a lot of cds, ordering them in bulk from a place such as Factory Direct will
save you money. |

Computer TV Shows and Free Online Courses
John Sturges recommends the AARP for
a great online computer course. Other sites include the HP Learning Center and CNET.
All of these courses are free.
A number of computer tv shows that we remember are still being aired
on satellite or premium cable packages. These include Dotto's
Data Cafe, Call
For Help, and the Dave
Chalk Show.
